Process Overview

Eligibility to Apply
Expenses that cannot be covered by the Athletic Department budget or team fundraising efforts may be submitted as a grant request to Willow Glen Athletic Boosters (WGAB) by a Willow Glen High School or Middle School Coach. Parents, athletes, boosters, and volunteers are not permitted to apply on behalf of a program.

What We Support
We fund athletic-based requests, including:

• Equipment needs essential to team function or safety
• Uniform needs for teams or seasonal requirements that will be used annually
• Training tools and program resources that enhance athlete development
• ​Specific athletic event related expenses when appropriate

​Application Expectations

• Requests must include a clear explanation of need and student impact.
• ​Current ASB balance, cost estimates, vendor quotes, or itemized pricing should be included when available.
• Coaches must ensure the request aligns with ASB purchasing rules and school guidelines.

What to Expect after your submission

Review Process

• All applications are reviewed by the Board, with final determination within 30 days from date of submission
• Coaches may be contacted for clarification or additional information. Decisions are based on program need, student impact, available funds, and alignment with organizational goals.

Funding & Distribution

• Board approved funds are deposited directly into the program’s ASB account. All spending must follow ASB purchasing procedures and funds must be used only for the purpose stated in the approved application. 
• Funding Tangible Items - San José Unified Requirement: Any tangible item valued at $500 or more must be inventoried by the receiving San José Unified staff member. The item must be added to the school’s official inventory list. Inventory must be maintained and updated annually by school personnel.
